“Poet-Tree" a juried call for entries

For this exhibit, studio2gallery is looking for artworks inspired by the seasons to compliment the paintings of feature artist, Marilyn Rea Nasky and her color rich Aspen series. Juror and owner, Tina Weitz, seeks the artist’s vision of the imagery the seasons bring forth, as well as works relating to or containing poetry/text sprung from summer, spring, winter and fall.

Marilyn Rea Nasky creates visual images that communicate the mystery and transient beauty of our planet. She relies on visual memory, dreams and feelings for these images of landscape and natural organic forms. Though based on reality, her paintings focus on her feelings about the natural world.  Marilyn is a Central Texas artist whose rich and varied life experience contributes to her work. Her home state of Colorado is the inspiration for the Aspen Series. She is also a Chroma Teaching Artist, working in Atelier Interactive Acrylics and Archival Oils.

COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY
Open to all styles (including video), emerging and established artists 18+. Artworks submitted must have been executed within the last 3 years to be eligible.
SALES
All selected works must be available for sale. A 50% commission will be retained for any work sold through the gallery.
SIZE LIMITATIONS
Artwork must fit through a standard size door. Artworks must be prepared for hanging with wire or other suitable material adequate to support the weight of the work.
ENTRY
$25.00 for 3 digital images, $5 each additional image. No charge for a 2nd view/digital image of 3 dimensional artworks.

ACCEPTED ARTWORK
Artists will be notified of selected and declined works by email Friday, July 16, 2010. Works that differ significantly from their digital images may be withheld from the exhibition at the gallery's discretion.
DELIVERY AND PICKUP OF ACCEPTED ARTWORK
Shipped artworks must arrive by Tuesday, August 10, 2010. To avoid breakage, be sure your work is well packed in a strong reusable container. Work that is shipped must have plexi-glass, not glass. Clip frames and sawtooth hangers will not be accepted. Please insure your work with your carrier. Our shipping address for Fed Ex and UPS is 1700 S. Lamar Blvd., Ste. 318, Austin, Texas 78704. If mailing your artworks, please use our P.O. Box 40430, Austin, Texas 78704 address.

Hand deliveries may be made to 1700 S. Lamar Blvd., Suite 318, Austin, on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 12noon to 6pm.
Pickup. Artists shipped artwork must have prepaid shipping charges arranged for return via the method of arrival by Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Artists may pick up artworks from the gallery on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from noon to 6 pm.
LIABILITY
studio2gallery is not responsible for loss or damage from storage of artwork not picked up (or without prepaid pickup shipping arrangements) from studio2gallery by the deadlines indicated. No refunds on entry fees. Sending an entry to this exhibit additionally shall imply agreement to the conditions set forth.
