Juried Call for Entries:
"Models and Artists" the muse in history

Rick Find and studio2gallery invite you to explore the creative collaboration between models and artists.  Most of us have heard of Jean-Leon Gerome, Alphonse Mucha and John William Waterhouse.  But who has heard of the models they worked with?  Muriel Foster worked for John Waterhouse for 23 years and it was her image in much of his most important work.  They shared a unique relationship for decades.  Those of us who are moved by art and care about art should seek to understand and acknowledge these relationships.

The exhibit will feature artists working in different mediums to record the nude and seminude images and art works.

COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY

Open to all styles, emerging and established artists 18+. Artworks submitted must have been executed within the last three years to be eligible.

All selected works must be available for sale. A 40% commission will be retained for any work sold through the gallery.

Artwork must fit through a standard size door. Artworks must be prepared for hanging with wire or other suitable material adequate to support the weight of the work.

$25.00 for 3 digital images, $5 each additional image. No charge for a 2nd view/digital image of 3 dimensional artworks.

Artists will be notified of selected and declined works by email February 10, 2009. Works that differ significantly from their digital images may be withheld from the exhibition at the gallery's discretion.

Shipped artworks must arrive by Tuesday, February 24, 2009. To avoid breakage, be sure your work is well packed in a strong reusable container. Work that is shipped must have plexiglass, not glass. Clip frames will not be accepted. Please insure your work with your carrier. Hand deliveries may be made to 1700 South Lamar, Suite 318, on Saturday, February 21, 2009 between
1-7pm.

Artists shipped artwork must have prepaid shipping charges arranged for return via the method of arrival by Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Artworks that were hand delivered may be picked up from the gallery during the hours of noon to 6 pm on March 31, 2009.

studio2gallery is not responsible for loss or damage from storage of artwork not picked up (or without prepaid pickup shipping arrangements) from studio2gallery by the deadlines indicated. Sending an entry to this exhibit additionally shall imply agreement to the conditions set forth.
